Birkendale is a small area to the North-West of the centre of Sheffield, a city in Northern England, go here to find out about Sheffield. It has mostly Victorian houses, with 65 houses in total. There is a large variety of housing, with houses that date to Victorian times and modern bungalows, tiny terraced houses across the road from houses with huge gardens. The Birkendale area is a conservation area, that means that you cannot expand your house so it does not fit with the area, chop down the trees etc. You can get pictures of Birkendale in the pictures section. The Download and Samples sections are good for looking at census information for the area, and the History section allows you to travel through the history of Birkendale looking at how many people lived in the area, what their jobs were etc.
